Spring Fabrics

Daisy Halter Top

Tie back

Lined in white cotton

Yummy Sunflowers

Almost Spring in Australia and in Queensland the days are very warm (my daughter has sunbaked twice already!!!!) August is always windy so today I washed all my pretty cottons and started sewing some halter tops.  I made two of the daisy top and will cut up the bright sunflower fabric to make more tops, dresses and maybe a boho bag.  Spring is my second favourite season in Qld (Autumn is my favourite) the warmer weather brings beautiful blooms and my new baby calves.  Will post photos of finished Sunflower goodies when they are done. Cheers Rob:)

I am supposed to be sewing bunting for this weekend's Tamborine Village Market!  But it is such a lovely Winter's day that I am sitting in the sunshine on my verandah talking to my dogs:) Work can wait!!

Printed Hessian Fabric

I found this great printed Hessian (Burlap) fabric.  I am going to cover my large notice board with the Eiffel Tower print.  This fabric would look great framed in a recycled/distressed frame.  I just love it!!

New Fabric

Bouquet by Annette Tatum for Free Spirit Fabrics

This is a lovely range of soft pastels and pretty florals.  My fat quarter bundle will make a cot size raggy quilt.  But I love the pillow cases, so may have to buy some more yardage..........Regards Rob:)

Ideas for using Quilting Fabric Panels

Raggy quilts are a great way to use a panel in a fabric range.  The Friendship Tea range had a lovely panel with lots of pretty tea cups.  I cut the panel up into 8" squares of 4 tea cups.  The remaining fabric bundle was cut to fit this size and joined to make this pretty raggy lap quilt.  I had one 8" square left over so used a matching spot to make a cushion.  The back of the cushion is made up of the scraps from the fabric bundle (see photo)
