Raggy quilts are a great way to use a panel in a fabric range. The Friendship Tea range had a lovely panel with lots of pretty tea cups. I cut the panel up into 8" squares of 4 tea cups. The remaining fabric bundle was cut to fit this size and joined to make this pretty raggy lap quilt. I had one 8" square left over so used a matching spot to make a cushion. The back of the cushion is made up of the scraps from the fabric bundle (see photo)

Scrap Quilts and Cushions
Add little embellishments
Ava Rose Cushion Cover waiting for naive running stitch around squares
Paris Flea Market fabric
Photo from English Country Living Magazine
Alot of my favourite Country Living/Style Magazines are a great inspiration for ideas. The basic Scrap Patchwork quilts and cushions are once again very popular and a great way to use up your stash. I have so many Charm Packs (5" squares) from Moda and these cushions are a great way to use them up. I just add pretty lace, ric rac and stitching to make them unique! Rob:)

Backing fabric from English Garden range
Finally finished most of my February orders so have been able to add a few things to my website. The English Garden fabrics are beautiful, soft florals and stripes from Rachel Ashwell. I have added some daisy lace and ric rac to the cushion and have almost completed two more cushions from this range. Very Shabby Chic!

Studio Mirror & Shelves
My hubby finally made it to my studio on Saturday to finish off a few things I wanted done when renovating. That was 14 months ago but who's counting (I AM). So I now have up my pretty shelves, framed stitcheries, splashback in bathroom, towel rack etc. I found the lovely mirror last year at a second hand furniture store in Beaudesert. It had been cut off an umbrella/ hall stand and repaired for painting. I like the shabby look of the stripped paint so left it. It will be a great hanger for my pretty antique lace. Just ignore the reflection in the mirror of my messy work table (overflowing with fabrics as usual) Rob :)

Aprils in Paris Cushion

Back of Parisien Lattice Cushion
Parisien Lattice Cushion
I have been making alot of cushion covers lately. The above cushions were made from leftover fabrics from a lovely quilt I have made for my friend. I am also stitching and embellishing some cushions from Rachel Ashwell's Garden Rose collection. I have cut the fabric for a pretty raggy quilt and the leftover strips are sewn together to make cushion covers. Then I am stitching on daisy lace, ric rac and pom poms. Great way to use up your fabrics. Regards Rob :)
