Quilts for Men

I have made this quilt for my eldest son.  The fabric range is called Savile Row and is a great design for men.  I have backed the quilt in the same black paisley as the 2.5" borders around each block.  His bed is black cast iron so the quilt looks great and is dirt proof (well if I can't see it then it's not there!!) My husband also likes this quilt so definately a thumbs up from the men.  Regards Rob

Gingham Rose Redwork Quilt

Amy's Creative Side                                                                                                                                                                                 I'm entering the Bloggers Quilt Festival this year with one of my favourite quilts I made in 2006.  It began with my obsession with redwork stitching while waiting for my kids to finish dancing, netball, footy etc.  I kept to a theme of things I loved ie: home, family, friends, chooks, birdhouses, gardens and all things country.  The piecing of the quilt is my design.  I worked in rows and just added blocks of fabric to make it fit (lots of fudging).  Once the quilt was pieced and quilted in the ditch I hand quilted in my redwork thread at dancing, netball, football blah blah I'm sure you get the idea of the time involved in waiting on four kids.  Anyway, final result is still one of my favourite quilts that is displayed on a rustic ladder next to my fire place.
Fabrics used are from the Gingham Rose range by 3 Sisters.

This section shows the name and birthdate of my four children.
Hope you like it also.  Kind regards Rob

Primitive Quilts and Projects

If you love all things Primitive you will love this magazine.  I have been getting it from USA since it began and am currently doing the Carson's Courtyard quilt.  It is a great way to use up some of your stash. I get it from www.fatquartershop.com or www.buggybarn.com regards Rob

Daisy Chain Quilt

Note to self.......................don't wear white, don't back your quilts in white, don't go near white fabric!!!!!!
I finished this lovely quilt last week but have put a large mark on the back so am unable to sell it. My daughter is very pleased, as she is just changing her room to red and white (maybe she put the mark on it???) so it will look lovely in her room.
The fabric is 'Follow Your Imagination' from Australian Designers Prints Charming. The daisies are huge and make a bold statement. Because the daisy prints are so large I trimmed 4 fat quarters and just added the 6.5" strips along each row. Very easy quilt to make just don't back it in white!!!

Chocolat' Quilt

I pieced my Chocolat' Quilt years ago but it was too big to quilt on my small Janome without breaking my back. So I have waited till my quilting frame and machine were out of storage to finish it. It is a lovely quilt 2metres square so fits lovely on the table in my studio. However, since my studio table is continually used for food n wine I will take the quilt home and put it on my lounge for the coming winter months.
