Flannel Quilt

This time of year I love flannel quilts. They're great to snuggle in on the lounge in front of a fire. My favourite flannel quilts (and the easiest to make) are rag quilts, the more you wash them the better they get. This week I made the one above out of the Harvest Town range by Red Rooster Fabrics. This range has a panel with four different scenes (see photo). I bought 4 panels, cut them up, used matching panel for front and back. Quilted each one separately, then used the border fabric for edges using the same quilting technique. I also made a matching pillow, but I think I need to make more as my children do not understand the first in best dressed rule!!!!! So much for a peaceful night on the lounge!!!!! Rob xo

Market to Market

Unfortunately, I won't be at the Beaudesert Market this Saturday due to family commitments. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Kind regards Rob

Quilting Ideas

Just an idea to get rid of your excess 2.5" strips. Cut a centre square or rectangle to whatever size u want (mine is 9.5") applique heart, star or even use a stitchery if u wish. Then border with 2.5" strips using the log cabin technique. If you have a small centre just keep adding the strips till you get the size u want.

I made 4 placemats and a matching runner for my ma-in-law for Mothers Day. The runner is just 4 blocks (same as placemat) rotated so the hearts face different directions.

Embellish with daisies, ric rac or buttons (mine is daisy lace sewn on after quilting).

This placemat is made with Scarborough Fair by Robyn Pandolph for RJR Fabrics.

Happy quilting xo
